Bacarella Funeral Home traces its roots to 1938, when Earle and Elsie Little founded the Earle Little Funeral Home on East Elm Avenue in Monroe. The business passed through several generations of ownership, including Richard P. Cavanaugh, who worked there from 1948 and became a partner in 1961. William A. Bacarella, a longtime employee who started in 1982, purchased the business in 1992 and opened the current facility at 1201 South Telegraph Road in 2004.
Bill Bacarella, a 1986 graduate of Wayne State University's Department of Mortuary Science, serves as funeral director. He is a lifelong Monroe County resident who graduated from Monroe Catholic Central High School in 1981 and Monroe County Community College in 1985. The funeral home offers grief support resources and pre-planning programs for families throughout Monroe County.
