About Asheville Mortuary Services
Asheville Mortuary Services has served Western North Carolina for over 50 years and is a sister company to Penland Family Funeral Home. The funeral home operates from a temporary facility after Hurricane Helene destroyed their building, with all staff safe and services continuing without interruption.
The funeral home offers direct cremation starting at $1,075, which includes basic services of a funeral director, staff assistance, transfer of remains within Buncombe County, transport to crematorium, and cremation. Traditional funeral service packages include embalming, viewings, chapel services at Penland Family Funeral Home, and committal services. Memorial services can be added to cremation packages for an additional fee and include use of the chapel, register book, custom memorial folders, and acknowledgement cards.
