About Arnett & Steele Funeral Home
Arnett & Steele Funeral Home traces its roots to 1867, when Thomas Jefferson Hoskins established a general merchandise and undertaking business on Main Street during Bell County's formation. Hoskins, who served as Pineville's first mayor in 1890 and founded the city's fire department, operated one of the region's earliest funeral service establishments during the coal and lumber boom that followed the Civil War.
The funeral home operates two locations: the original facility in Pineville and Arnett & Steele Valley Chapel in nearby Harrogate, Tennessee. Both locations offer traditional burial and cremation services, with options ranging from full funeral services to private family gatherings. The firm provides live streaming for remote attendees, tribute videos, and keepsakes for personalization, along with assistance securing veterans benefits and military honors for former service members.
