His son Escar Adams purchased the coffins and caskets department in 1935 and founded the first funeral home in Alexander County. The business relocated several times before settling at its current Taylorsville location in 1958 on the corner of Main Avenue Drive and Highway 16 South.
The funeral home operates two locations, with the second chapel in Moravian Falls serving families throughout Wilkes County. Each December, Adams Funeral Home hosts an annual memorial service honoring families served during the past year. The business remains locally owned and operated, continuing over a century of service to families in Alexander and Wilkes counties including North Wilkesboro, Taylorsville, and surrounding communities.
