YORK – Fred Lyle Howell, Jr., 76, of York, SC, passed away on Monday, April 20, 2020.
Fred was born on November 15, 1943 in York, SC. He was a son of the late Fred Lyle Howell, Sr. and Gladys Carroll Howell. He worked in various postal services and served in the National Guard.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanne Byrd Howell, son, Richard “Scott” Howell (Barbara), grandchildren, Kirby Howell, Kaytlin Annan, Chloe Howell, Emily Howell, and sister, Cindy Howell, step son, Lance Stafford (Marie), step grandchildren, Evelyn and Nick Stafford.
In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by his sister, Donna Bryant.
Fred loved nothing more than being outside in nature. A noted environmentalist, Fred was also a great dancer. He was a wonderful dinner partner because he could talk about anything. He will be sorely missed by all of his friends and family.
