Obituary Notice
York – Fred “Freddie” Boyce Chambers, Jr., 83, of York, SC passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at Carolina Gardens Rock Hill, SC.
A Graveside service will be held at Beth Shiloh Presbyterian Church Cemetery in York at 9:30 AM on Monday July 27, 2020 with Rev. John White officiating.
Freddie was born on December 2, 1936 in Cornelius, NC. He was the son of the late Fred Boyce Chambers, Sr. and Betty Torrence Chambers. He was the widower of Betty Jean Stone Chambers. Freddie retired from General Tire and Rubber Company and Bratton Funeral Home. He was a lifetime member of Beth Shiloh Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder. He also served in the Army National Guard and was a charter member of the York Rescue Squad.
He is survived by his sister Agnes Clark Tiller of York, his daughter, Susan McDaniel Ferguson (Tracy) of York and son, David Chambers (Tiffany) of York, granddaughter Mandi C. Lopp (Chris) of Matthews, NC, and great-grandson James David Lopp of Matthews, NC.
