Frederick C. Byers, Jr. “Fred” 88, of Clover, SC passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at White Oak Manor in York, SC.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Woodside Cemetery in Clover, SC with the Rev. Alex Stevenson officiating.
Fred was born on March 5, 1932 in Clover, SC. He was the son of the late Frederick C. Byers, Sr. and Mildred McSwain Byers. He attended First United Methodist Church of Clover, SC and was a veteran of the US Marines.
Fred is survived by his wife, Barbara Ferris Brackett Byers, daughter, Kristy Byers, sisters, Judy Meek, Nancy Moses (Houston), step children, Kelly Brackett Brown (Dean), Gary Dean Brackett, Miranda Brackett Holiday (Kevin), six step grandchildren, and eight step great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by his former wife, Christine Melton Byers, son, Ricky Byers, and sisters, Dot Byers Melton, Margaret Poteat, Sarah Wray, and brothers, Bill Byers and George Byers.
