Mulhearn Funeral Home — Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA

Mulhearn Funeral Home was established in 1929 by Peter Sherlock Mulhearn, his wife Alwine Louise Peters, and their children, building on Mr. Mulhearn's earlier work in the undertaking business with his father-in-law Johann Ernst Peters since 1912. The family expanded during the 1930s to include locations in Rayville, Delhi, and Winnsboro, operating funeral homes alongside insurance, flower shops, and ambulance services until regulatory changes in 1966.

In 1971, Tom and Marie Mulhearn purchased the company from Tom's siblings and later added the West Monroe location in 1966, followed by a Monroe funeral home in the 1980s. Multiple generations of the Mulhearn family now work in the business, including Mike Mulhearn, who joined in the late 1970s, and later Shelly Mulhearn Holloway, Peter G. "Butch" Mulhearn Jr., and Thomas H. Mulhearn III during the 1980s.

The West Monroe funeral home is part of a family operation that includes four funeral home locations across Northeast Louisiana and Mulhearn Memorial Park cemetery in Monroe, offering both burial and cremation services to families throughout Ouachita Parish and surrounding communities.
