CLOVER - Fay Elizabeth Kimrey Hathcock went to be with her friend and savior on Thursday, August 2, 2012 at the age of 80. Fay was born in Burlington, NC on March 11, 1932. She was the daughter of the late French Moledge Kimrey and the late Myrtle Mae Isley Kimrey. Fay taught Sunday school and loved on God’s children for 20 years at Blair Road United Methodist Church in Mint Hill, NC. After moving to Clover, SC she served at First United Methodist Church in numerous capacities. She was married for 35 years to the late Jennings Lowder Hathcock. Fay will be remembered for her open heart and hospitability. She spent many long, loving and caring hours taking care of her home and raising her four surviving children, son Jennings Dale Hathcock and wife Rhonda Hathcock of Concord, NC, daughter Rebecca Hathcock Lyda and husband Tim Lyda of York, SC, daughter Teresa Hathcock Jordan and husband Christopher Jordan of Hendersonville, NC, and son Kenneth Neal Hathcock of Ansonville, NC. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Stephanie, Jessica and Kristina Hathcock, Amber Salter, Sean Brown, Wesley Lyda, Kayla Merrell, Katherine Jordan and Tyler Hathcock and three step grandchildren, Hollie Gregory, Kent and Cole Neely and four great granddaughters, Miranda and Jasmin Caron, Eva Kimrey and Charlee Salter. Fay was also survived by brother Baker Kimrey and wife Glenda, sister Lurene Wilson, and sister in law Kay Kimrey. She was preceded in death by her brother John Kimrey. As Eva Kimrey called her “crazy Maw Maw” will be greatly missed by her family and many supportive and loving sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews, but with much joy and peace we happily release her to Jesus. The funeral service will be held Sunday, August 5, 2012 at 2:30 pm at First United Methodist Church in Clover, with visitation following until 5:00 PM. Burial will be held on Monday, August 6, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Sunset Memory Gardens, 8901 Lawyers Road, Mint Hill, NC. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.brattonfuneralhome.com.
