BELTON – Evelyn Whetstine Mitchell, 68, of Belton, SC, gained her heavenly reward on April 11, 2019, at Rainey Hospice House in Anderson. She is at peace with the Lord she served so faithfully.
The funeral service will be at 1 PM on Monday, April 15, 2019 at Emmanuel Holiness Church with Rev. Daniel Friend, Rev. Wendell Burnett, and Rev. Roy Ivey officiating. Burial will follow at Olivet Presbyterian Church Cemetery in McConnells. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 PM on Sunday, April 14, 2019, at Bratton Funeral Home in York, SC. A local memorial service will be held at a later date.
Born in York, SC, on April 29, 1950, Evelyn was the daughter of the late Donald Whetstine and Nell McFalls Whetstine. She moved to Belton in 2005 and was a member of the Westminster PFBH Church.
Surviving her are her son, John Bishop Mitchell of York; daughter, Beth Friend (Daniel) of Belton; brothers, Steve Whetstine (Carol) of McConnells, Aaron Whetstine of York, Joe Whetstine (Heidi) of Irmo, Tim Whetstine (Jane) of Millsboro, DE, Paul Whetstine (Kim) of Rock Hill; sisters, Lavine Burnett (Wendell) of Union, Marcia Whetstine of Belton; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
