GASTONIA -- Emmett Henry Means, 81, passed away Monday, October 19, 2015, at CaroMont Health in Gastonia.
The funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, October 23, 2015 at Lake Wylie Christian Assembly with Rev. Lewis Gunn and Rev. Greg Means officiating. The family will receive friends Friday, October 23, 2015 from 12-2:00 PM at the church.
Emmett was a son of the late Fred Means and Hester Shaw Means. He attended Lake Wylie Christian Assembly and retired as a contractor. He was the widower of June Robinson Means.
He is survived by wife, Susan Neil Means of Gastonia, NC, three sons, Greg Means (Linda) of Rock Hill, SC, Jeff Means (Cathy) of Rock Hill, SC, Tony Means (Cindy) of Charleston, WV, two daughters, Sheri Byrd (John) of Charlotte, NC, Debbie Copeland (Greg) of Rock Hill, SC, step children, Kelly Lundsford, Cindy Bryant, and Chris Sells, sister, Hazel Pierce of WV, brother, Raymond Means of WV, sister, Dorsey Wolfe of Monroe, NC, brother, Arthur Means of WV, brother, Sonny Means of WV, brother, Ricky Means of WV, brother, Gene Means of MA, fourteen grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Gladys Brown, and his brother, Doug Means.
