YORK – Mrs. Mary Emily DeVinney McCalister, 81, of York passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill.

The family will receive friends on December 31 at 10:00 at the First Presbyterian Church Parlor. The service will be held at the church at 11:00 with Rev. Tom McPhail officiating. The burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.

Emily was the daughter of the late William Lindsay DeVinney and Margaret Plaxco DeVinney of York. She was retired as a clerk of court for York County Probate Court, and was an active member of First Presbyterian Church in York. Emily was the widow of Melvin Eugene McCalister.

She is survived by son Steve McCalister of York, daughters, Linda McCalister of Boone, NC, Carolyn Cox of Greensboro, NC, and Patricia Sneeder of Augusta, GA, grandchildren, Jason Rogers, Emily Ann Lewis, Josh Sneeder, Austin Rogers, and Jiexi McCalister, great granddaughter Amelia Lewis, and sister-in-law Elna DeVinney of York. In addition to her husband and parents, Emily was preceded in death by her brother Jack DeVinney.
