YORK – Elmer Dale Burkhamer, 89, passed away on Monday, February 20, 2017 at his home.
The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 PM on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Bratton Funeral Home in York. Funeral services will be held later in the week in Linn, West Virginia.
Elmer was a son of the late Ammon Burkhamer and Opal Short Burkhamer. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during the Korean War, and was retired from the state of Ohio as a food service manager. Elmer was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in York.
He is survived by his wife Beulah Lowther Burkhamer, children, Kevin Burkhamer (Jean Marie), Karla Cooper (Phillip), Karen Walsh (Mike), brothers, Ray Burkhamer, Edsil Burkhamer, Marvin Burkhamer, and Alan Burkhamer, five grandchildren, Rhett, Amanda, Christian, Kaitlyn, and Clay, and two great grandchildren, Taya and Morrison. In addition to his parents, Elmer was preceded in death by sons, Kendal Burkhamer and Kerry Burkhamer, brother Wendall Burkhamer and sister Maxine Smith.
