Ellen Hester Smith Starr, 90, of Clover, SC, passed away at home on Friday, September 29, 2017.
The funeral service will be at 2PM on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Mount Carmel Holiness Church of God, 517 Kings Mountain St. Clover, SC. Quiet hour will be held at the church from 1:30-2PM. Burial will be at Heritage Memorial Gardens in Roebuck, SC.
Born in Roebuck, SC, Hester was the daughter of the late Dixie Smith and Eva Sims Smith. She was the widow of Thomas Joe Starr and was a member of Mount Oliver Fire Baptize Holiness Church in New York, New York.
Hester is survived by her son, Benjamin Fredrick Starr, daughter, Kathy Anite Starr, granddaughter, Valencia Starr, brother, Henry Rudolph Smith, sisters, Sadie Mae Knight, and Elizabeth Perry.
In addition to her parents and husband, Hester is preceded in death by her son, Joseph Reginald Starr, brothers, Ervin Dixie Smith, Thomas Edward Smith, Arthur Braxton Smith, Walter Lewis Smith, Jimmy Smith, sisters, Eula Clowney and Lessie Hill.
