Elijah Kenneth Montford

A celebration of life service for Mr. Elijah Kenneth Montford, Jr. will be held Wednesday, May 08, 2024 in the Buckeye Missionary Baptist Church, 2176 New Buckeye Road, East Dublin , Ga. at 11:00 A. M. The Rev David G. Flowers will officiate and the interment will follow in the church Cemetery. Elijah Kenneth Montford, Jr. was born on August 22, 1955 in Wrightsville, Georgia. Affectionately known as “Kenny”, he was the son of the late Eligah Montford, Sr. and the late Lillie Mae (Woods) Montford. Kenny transitioned to his heavenly home Tuesday, April 30 2024. Kenny attended B.D. Perry Schools and graduated from East Laurens High School in 1973. He enjoyed a successful career as a licensed insurance agent for many years, proudly serving the middle Georgia area. He received numerous awards and accolades for his superior service. Kenny was a man of great faith. He was a dedicated member and an ordained deacon at Buckeye Baptist Church in East Dublin, Ga. Kenny continued to serve faithfully, in spite of, challenges to his health. He mentored and encouraged all that were fortunate enough to cross his path. Kenny was preceded in death by his mother and father, his beloved son, Kermit Reginald Duane Montford, one granddaughter, Brianca Ki 'elle Montford, one sister, Annett Snell, a treasured cousin, Lee Roy Montford, and one brother in law, Ray Braswell. Kenny leaves to cherish his memory a wife of 40 years, Nellie Montford; one loving and devoted daughter, Teena Y. Montford; Dublin Ga, one son Kenyatta Braswell; Sandersville, Ga, three grandsons: Kameron (Patricia) Montford; Savannah, Ga, Ryan Washington; Orangeburg, Sc, Yaqui Johnson; Sandersville, Ga, one granddaughter Baylen Braswell; Sandersville, Ga, and one great granddaughter Melody Johnson; Sandersville, Ga. He also leaves behind two brothers: Larry (Yolanda) Montford; McDonough, Ga, Melvin Montford; Dublin, Ga, and four sisters: Kathy West; Atlanta, Ga, Machelle (Jerome) Garland; Griffin, Ga, Bonita (Ricky) Fluker; Locust Grove, Ga, Renea Montford; Lovejoy, Ga, one uncle David (Diane) Montford; Adrian, Ga, two aunts: Daisy Clay; Atlanta, Ga, and Inez Montford; Miami, Fl, one mother in law, Alma Rita Braswell; Sandersville, Ga, three sisters in law: Patricia (Donald) Wilcher; Sandersville, Ga, Debra (Kenny) Spikes; Sandersville, Ga, and Sandra Braswell; Davisboro, Ga. one brother in law, Roy (Pendry) Braswell; Sandersville, Ga., and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
