Edward Lee Welborn “Pete”, 81 of York, SC passed away on Saturday, June 26, 2021.
The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 PM on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at Bratton Funeral Home in York, SC. The funeral will follow at the funeral home with the Rev. Mark Dellinger officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in York, SC.
Pete was born on September 28, 1939 in Spartanburg, SC. He was the son of the late Grover Cleveland Welborn and Hassie Mote Welborn and the widower of his wife, Betty Robinson Welborn.
Mr. Welborn is survived by his children: Libby Smith, Teresa Parker (Dean), Bobby Welborn (Carol Ann), and Gerald Welborn (Rhonda); siblings: William Welborn, Norman Welborn, Raymond Welborn, and Diane Turner; ten grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, Pete was preceded in death by his son, Dwayne Welborn, sisters: Lovadia Gunter, Frances Mathis, and Judy Phillips, and brother, Paul Welborn.
