Obituary Notice Edward Smith YORK Edward "Ed" Thomas Smith, 60, of 403 E. Liberty Street died Saturday, March 24, 2012, at his home in York. The funeral will be at 3:00 P.M. on Monday March 26, 2012 at Bratton Funeral Home. Rev. Mike Goodwin will be officiating.Visitation will be from 2-3:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Lakeview Memory Gardens. A native of York, Edward was a son of the late Marshall Smith, Sr. and Margaret Robinson Smith. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in York, he served as an officer in the United States Air Force in the mid 1970s. Ed worked in textiles at Talon, Fieldcrest Cannon and Champion Filters. He is survived by his mother Margaret R. Smith, wife of 35 years,Nellie Bradley Smith of York, and three brothers Wayne B. Smith (Debbie) of Rock Hill, David M. Smith of York, and Marshall T. Smith, Jr.(Brittany) 0f Leesville, SC., and his friend and companion "Freckles" (cocker spaniel dog). Memorials may be made to to the charity of ones choice.
