Edith B. King, beloved mother and a special “Nana” to her grandchildren, passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at her home in Clover.
The funeral will be at 4:00 PM on Sunday, October 9, 2016 at Hillcrest Baptist Church in York with Rev. Brad Vassey and Rev. Larry Nunn officiating. The burial will be held at Forest Hills Cemetery in Rock Hill. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 – 4 PM at Hillcrest Baptist Church.
Born in Great Falls, Edith was a daughter of the late Isaac Broom and Ruby Ogburn Broom, and was the widow of Jack C. King. She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in York and was retired from Celanese and the Captain’s Galley Restaurant in Rock Hill.
Edith is survived by her children, Donald Laverne Easler (Mary) of Anderson, SC, Anthony “Tony” Eugene Humphries of Fort Mill, SC, Alan Britt Humphries (Jennifer) of York, Toshua Lanette Smith (Chad) of Lowell, NC, Sister Cecil B. Settlemyre (Sonny) of Clover, SC, Uncle Carl Eugene Broome of Edgemoor, SC, special friend Horace Storey of Clover, and 8 grandchildren.
