Edith Isabel Yarbrough Clark, 90, passed away on Monday, July 24, 2017, at Brookdale Senior Living, Greenville, SC.
Born in York, SC, to the late Ozelle Bennett and Henry Yarbrough, she was the widow of Andral Clyde Clark. She is survived by her son, Dennis Clark (Suzanne) of Fort Mill, SC, and daughter, Barbara Clark Balentine (Richard) of Taylors, SC, brother, Ed Yarborough and sister-in-law Ruth Clark Sealey, grandchildren, Becky Clark Fitz Simmons (Scott), Easley, SC, Pettus Balentine Lilliott, Charlotte, NC, Reid Clark, Charlotte, NC, Tim Clark (Shara), Fort Mill, SC, Frank Balentine ( Bailey), Asheville, NC, Katie Clark Hill (Steven), Fort Mill, SC, and Cathrine Balentine (Lauren), McLeansville, NC, and ten great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sister Elaine Moss and brother Arnold Yarborough.
A lifetime member of the York ARP Church, Edith sang in the choir and was a member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class. She was well known for her chicken salad and chocolate pies which she prepared often for her friends and neighbors. Her children and grandchildren cherish the many hand-painted Father Christmas figurines, china dolls, and nativity sets she lovingly made for them. For many years, Edith was employed by York Drug Store where she worked alongside her sister and enjoyed meeting the customers there.
There will be a graveside service on Thursday, July 27, at 2:00 PM at Lakeview Memory Gardens, York, followed by a memorial service at York ARP Church at 2:30. The family will receive friends in the Fellowship Hall following the service.
