Edgar “Ed” Ellis Hope, 74, of York, SC passed away on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at Atrium Health Mercy Hospital, Charlotte, N.C.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at Filbert Presbyterian Church in America in York, SC with the Reverends Wallace Tinsley and Dave Hall officiating. With burial to follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday July 9, 2021 from 6 PM-8 PM at Filbert Presbyterian Church Family Life Center.
Ed was born on March 24, 1947 in York, SC. He was a son of the late Thomas Meek Hope, Sr. and Lucy Maurice Howell Hope and the widower of Alice Cain Hope. He was a member of Filbert Presbyterian Church.
Ed is survived by his son, Matt Hope (Jessica) of York, SC, granddaughter, Ellissa Hope of York, SC., three brothers, Thomas Meek Hope, Jr. (Roseanna) of York, SC, Jim Hope (Rachel), of Aiken, SC, Keith Hope, (Patty), of York, SC.
In addition, to his parents and wife, Ed was preceded in death by his sister, Brenda Hope Cox.
