Dottie Smith
YORK -- Ms. Dorothy "Dottie" Huskey Smith, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday May 13, 2015 at the age of 76.
The funeral will be at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, May 17, 2015 at Hillcrest Baptist Church with Pastor Brad Vassey officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, May 16, 2015 from 6-8 P.M. at Bratton Funeral Home in York. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Dottie's life.
Dottie was born on July 6, 1938 in York, SC, the daughter of the late Charlie Tallent and Thelma Hartness Davis. After living in Oklahoma, Florida, and Myrtle Beach, she settled with her family in York. Dottie retired from Walmart, where she worked many years as a sales associate. Dottie was a resident of White Oak Apartments and a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.
Dottie is survived by 3 daughters, Marie Carroll (Keith), Debbie Huffstetler (Tommy), Teresa England (Lonnie), 2 sons, Michael Huskey, Melvin Huskey, sister, Jimee Whitesides Crouch (Bob), 6 grandchildren, Shannon Childers (John), Mary Beth Stewart, Tommy Huffstetler (Allison), Christopher Huffstetler (Farrah), David Grayum, Heaven Huskey, 9 great grandchildren and several neices and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Larry Smith, her siblings, Evelyn Messer, Johnny Whitesides, and Susan Alton.
Her family extends their appreciation to all of those that loved and cared for her.
