YORK -- Doris Ashley Jackson, affectionately known as "Mama Dot", 77, of 3411 Gordon Road passed away Saturday, April 05, 2014, at her home in York.
The funeral will be at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday April 8, 2014, at Adnah United Methodist Church. with Rev. David McManus officiating. Burial will be in the church Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Bratton Funeral Home on Monday April 7, 2014 from 6-8 PM
A native of York, Dot was a daughter of the late Fred Ashley and Annie Benfield Ashley. Dot was a member of Adnah United Methodist Church, and retired owner/operater of Jackson's Grocery. Dot enjoyed gardening, canning and selling her homemade goods.
She is survived by her husband Gene Olin Jackson, her son, Freddie Jackson (Cindy) , 2 daughters, Debbie Jarriel (Andrew), Sandy Adams (Ronnie), brother, Butch Ashley, and 3 sisters, Bunny Whitesides, Margie Hope, Nell Bigger, and 8 grandchildren, Shelley Currence, Jamie Baker, Jeremy Jackson, Matt Wagner, Daniel Baker, Jacob Jackson, Wayne Adams and Bryan Adams, and 15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by brothers, Fred Ashley, Jimmy Ashley and Bobby Ashley, sisters, Hazel Camp, Betty Beck, and Edna Bratton.
