Dent Jackson Jr.
A Celebration of Life services for Mr. Dent Jackson, Jr. will be held Monday, March 4, 2019 at 12:00 Noon 
in the Williams Chapel Baptist Church, East Dublin, Georgia. The Rev. Ellis Carswell will officiate and interment will 
follow in the Laurens Memorial Gardens, 1287 Buckeye Road East Dublin, Georgia. Mr. Jackson was born the eleventh child 
to the parentage of the late Dent Jackson, Sr. and Donnie Wells Jackson on October 29, 1938 in Laurens County, Georgia. 
He departed this life, Friday, March 1, 2019.
Growing up in East Dublin, Georgia, he attended Brown Grove Church School.  Mr. Jackson was a member of 
Williams Chapel Baptist Church for over 68 years, serving on the kitchen committee and lawn committee. He served the
 City of Dublin and East Dublin, in many capacities. Honored to serve as the first Afro-American police officer for the 
City of Dublin, and East Dublin, Ga., and was a fireman for the City of  East Dublin, Georgia, first Afro-American Councilman for the
  City of East Dublin, Ga. also  and served for over 38 years. He was united in holy matrimony to his very best friend, confidant and life- time partner, Mrs. Mildred Branham-Jackson for 53 years. 
He was employed by the Graham Brothers Construction Company for many years as a truck driver, an occupation,
 he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, and ten siblings Alberta Edmond, Elizabeth
Jackson, Annie Lane, Levi Jackson, Frances Jackson, Alzonia Jackson, Mae Dudley, William Jackson, Thomas Jackson 
and Edward Jackson.
He leaves to cherish his memories and mourn his passing his beautiful wife of 53 years, Mildred Branham Jackson, 
sons, Bennie Keith Jackson(Gail) , Reginald Dent Jackson (Torri) , Jamie Eligah Jackson (Tina),
ten grandchildren, Delvin Montford, Sherrie Jackson, Jamuel Jones, B. K. Jackson, Nicholas Dent Jackson, Jamiah Jackson, Hampton 
Dent Jackson, D. J. Jackson, Addison Jackson and Olivea Jackson, four great-grandchildren, Landen, Skyler, Mason and Halo.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Williams Chapel Baptist Church in Mr. Jackson’s memory or
any organization of your choice.
Mr. Jackson will be placed in the church one hour prior to his services. Friends are being received at the family residence, 330 
Branham Street, East Dublin, Georgia, Saturday and Sunday from 4:00 P. M. until 6:00 P. M.
