Cynthia Jean “Jeanie” Sherer was born April 26, 1960 and passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at her home at the age of 56.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, September 25, 2016 at Bratton Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Tom Sherer officiating. Guests are welcome to share remembrances of Jeanie during the service. A visitation will follow at the home of Denise Mitchell at 502 Windy Hill Road, York, SC.
Jeanie was the daughter of the late John Franklin Sherer and Nancy Ola Wilkerson Sherer. During her life Jeanie lived in the Carolinas, California, and Europe: Germany and England, before returning to settle in Sharon, SC to live near her family. A Registered Nurse, she enjoyed a full career in nursing as primarily an emergency room nurse and then, as a traveling nurse servicing numerous hospitals. A lover of animals, Jeanie cared for numerous dogs and cats throughout the years.
She is survived by three sisters: Linda Horton of Lawrenceville, GA, Patricia Sherer of York, SC, and Gail Wiedemeyer of St. Simons, GA: niece (Emma Horton); nephew (Greg Beaulieu), and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, John Sherer.
