Obituary Notice
YORK – Charles Junior Snyder, 90, of York, SC, passed away on Monday, June 8, 2020 peacefully at his home.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 13, 2020 at Lakeview Memory Gardens in York, SC, with the Reverend Bill Gressett officiating.
Charles was born on March 16, 1930 in Dover, OH. He was the son of the late Wilmer Snyder and Frances Margaret Vogt Maurer. He was the widower to his wife; Carole E. Shutt, whom he married in 1954. Charles was a well-known and respected businessman in Dover, OH where he started and ran a bicycle, toy, and hobby shop until he sold it, bought a farm in York, SC, and moved in 1983. He attended Park Ridge Baptist Church and worked from an office, both in Rock Hill, SC. He enjoyed many dogs and other animals on the Snyder Farm during his later years. His present dog, Kate, a Yorkie, will be well taken care of. Charles raised a Godly family with his wife, Carole. We will miss our dad and grandpa!
He is survived by his daughters, Teresa Snyder of York, SC, Lise’ Brinkley (Grant) of Buchanan, VA, son, David Snyder (Debbie) of Bel Air, MD, four grandchildren, Aaron Brinkley (Rachel), Matthew Brinkley (Fiancée Lael), Selena Snyder and Sebastian Snyder.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Carole Elizabeth Shutt Snyder, and infant brother, Paul Edward Snyder.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be written in honor of Charles Junior Snyder to Mitten Tree Knoll Horse Center, 6995 Campbell Rd. York, SC 29745.
