Charles "Bill" Curry
Charles Nathan (Bill) Curry, 88, passed away on Sunday, July 25, 2021 after an extended illness.
Bill, as he was affectionately called, began his career in radio/tv at the age of 16 by working at a small Rock Hill station, WTYC, on weekends. His career included WIS radio in Columbia, SC, WHDH in Boston, MA, WEZC and WSOC in Charlotte, NC and WRHI in Rock Hill, SC. His most notable times in his career were WBTV/radio where he produced a show called “The Belmont Tunnel” as well as production at SCETV. His motto was “speak humorously and carry a big voice” and he lived that. He had a wonderful sense of humor. He loved his family and especially his two girls, Michelle and Nicole.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Julia Chambers Curry. He is survived by his daughters, Michelle Jordan (Tim) of Indian Land, SC and Nicole Nicholson (Joe) of Charleston, SC. He is also survived by four grandchildren and one great-grandchild and a cousin, Nancy Coleman.
The family would like to thank his caregivers for caring for him during overwhelming circumstances with love and compassion-Amanda, Gina, Neda, and Crescent Hospice-April, Ida, Kennetria, Kayla, and Jamie.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Transformation Church, 1212 Transformation Lane, Indian Land, SC 29707.
All services will be private.
