Charles Bankhead, Jr. 86, of Sharon, passed away on Monday, January 29, 2018 surrounded by his loving family.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Woodlawn Presbyterian Church at 11AM with Reverend Sam Roberson officiating. The family will receive friends at the Church in the Fellowship Hall following the memorial service.
Born in Sharon, SC, Charles was the son of the late James Charles Bankhead, Sr. and Rebecca Saye Bankhead. He was the owner and operator of Bankhead Refrigeration Company, served in the US Navy, and was a Deacon and Elder at Woodlawn Presbyterian Church in Sharon.
Charles is survived by his wife, Mary Eliza Smarr Bankhead, daughters, Becky Bankhead Boone (Keith), Beverley Bankhead Beasley, Julie Bankhead (Scott), and seven grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Woodlawn Presbyterian Church and to the church cemetery at 3852 Woodlawn St. Sharon, SC 29742 or to Hospice and Community Care at 2275 India Hook Rd. Rock Hill, SC 29732.
