Remembering Bunnie

A Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Bunnie Mae Gainey will be held Saturday, September 09, 2023 at 1:00 P. M. in the Springfield Baptist Church, 256 Carolina St, Chester, Ga. 31012. The Pastor Stephon Brown will officiate and the interment will follow in the Dudley Memorial Cemetery, Dublin, Ga. Mrs. Gainey was born May 10, 1929 to the union of the late Roosevelt and Effie Mae (Whitehead) Gainey. She transitioned from this life to her Heavenly home September 6, 2023. She was ninety-four (94) years old. She was married to the late Issac Gainey and to this union, eight children were born. Mrs. Gainey was a seamstress, a homemaker and an employee for L & H shirt factory until it closed. She was an excellent cook and loved crocheting and search-a-word puzzles. Mrs. Gainey, above all, was a God-fearing woman. She was preceded in death by her children, Katie Mae Gainey, Edward James Gainey, her sisters, Ida Mae Thompkins, Alberta Regular, Janie Ruff and Gladys Whitehead brothers, Remus Whitehead, R. W. Whitehead, Zebedee Whitehead, Rosco Whitehead, Nelson Whitehead Walter Whitehead, Luke Whitehead ,Sidney Whitehead, Pratt Whitehead, and Claxton Whitehead, one grandchild, Jamillah Gainey. Mrs. Gainey leaves to cherish her memories, children, Hazel Gainey, Adam (Victoria)Gainey, Sinclair (Sonya) Gainey, Ida Pearl Gainey all of Dublin, Ga., Sylvester (Bobbie)Gainey, Bonnie L. Gainey, Myrtle Gainey, all of Dexter, Ga. Sisters, Doretha Carter, Helen Scott, and Faye Thompson, brothers, Hillard Whitehead and Randolph Whitehead. Two special grandsons she raised, Adrian (Keyona) Gainey, Conyers, Ga. and Daton (Melissa) Burch, Dexter, Ga. Nineteen (19) grandchildren, eighteen (18) great- Grandchildren and three (3) great-great grandchildren. Friends are being received at the family residence, 2248 Barron Lane, Dexter, Ga.
