CHESTER -- Bobby Smith Howell, 72, of 1560 Lowry Hwy. passed away Wednesday, August 06, 2014, at his home in Chester.
The funeral will be at11:00 A.M. on Saturday August 9, 2014 at Lowry Baptist Church in Chester with Revs.Mike Schaffer, Carl Howell and Toby Pope officiating. Burial will be at Hickory Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday August 8, 2014 at Bratton Funeral Home in York from 6-8 P.M.
Bobby was a son of the late William C. Howell and Wilma Bratton Howell and he was a member of Lowry Baptist Church. He was retired as a supervisor for Chester County road maintenance, a heavy equipment operator, and he was a truck driver for Oscar Ramsey. Bobby served in the United States Army.
He is survived by wife of 50 years, Jean Ivey Howell of Chester, SC, 2 daughters, Regina Brown (Steve) of York, S.C., Nancy Price (Ron) of Carlisle, S.C., 2 sons, Robert Howell (Leslie) of Gaffney, S.C., William Howell of Gaffney, S.C., 10 grandchildren Blake, Mark and Ross Price of Carlisle, S.C., Justin and Katie Howell of Gaffney, S.C., Lacy Bradshaw of Dover, Delaware, Alex Price of Leslie, S.C. and Tristin Price of Columbia, S.C., brother Walter Howell, sisters Emily Brown, Blanche Smith, Judy Bolin, and Minnie Whitesides. He was preceded in death by grandson, Stephen Brown, Jr., twin brother, Bill Howell and sister, Sarah Burgess.
