Bobby “Bob” Ray Hope, Sr., 74, passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at his home in Bullock Creek.
The funeral will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at Shiloh Baptist Church with Rev. David Brannen, Rev. Tommy Hope, and Rev. Larry Nunn officiating. Burial will be held at Woodlawn Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 PM on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at Bratton Funeral Home.
Born June 24, 1943, Bob was a son of the late Rufus Lee Hope and Vera Alexander Hope Hinson. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, in aviation, retired from Siemen’s Westinghouse, was the founder of B and J Granite in York, SC, and was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Sharon, SC. Bob was a loving and devoted husband and father, and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Joan Lingerfeldt Hope, daughter Teresa Hope Ramsey (Chris), son Bobby Hope, Jr., granddaughter Gracen Hope Ramsey, all of Sharon, SC, brother, Rev. Tommy Hope of Hickory Grove, SC, and sisters, Rose Maddy of Dallas, NC, Faye Scoggins of Sharon, and Lynda Rochester of Sharon. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his brother David Hope and sister Joan Horton.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice and Community Care for their loving care and support to the family. We would especially like to thank Danette Duncan, Korrine Davis, and Nikyiah Easter for their kindness, love, and care.
