YORK – Bobbie Waring Hawkins, 92 of York, SC passed away on Sunday, May 16, 2021 at Carolina Gardens Assisted Living in York, SC.
A memorial service will be held 1:00 PM Monday, May 24, 2021 at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in York, SC with Reverend Amanda Robertson officiating.
Bobbie was born on August 12, 1928 in Liberty, SC. She was the daughter of the late Frank G. Waring and Gladys Richbourg Waring. She was a member of Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in York, SC. and very active in the church’s mission trips. She was also a past regent of the Kings Mountain chapter of the DAR.
Bobbie is survived by her sister, Martha Waring Garrison of Clemson, SC, nephews and nieces: G. Steven Garrison of Duluth, GA, Michael Stanley Smith of Easley, SC, Melton Scott Smith of Easley, SC, Gary Wayne Gibson of Easley, SC, Paul Gibson Waring, Jr. of El Paso, TX, Frank Gregory Waring of Pickens, SC, Linda Kathryn Garrison Clark of Dunn, NC, Deborah Lynn Smith Summey of Spartanburg, SC, Lynn N. Causey of Simpsonville, SC, and Jan Waring Miller of Clemson, SC.
In addition to her parents, Bobbie was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters: Morton Waring, Paul Waring, Frank Waring, Betty Smith and Patricia Waring Rice.
