MCCONNELLS – Betty Plyler McKeown Ashe, 88, passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2016 at her home.
The funeral will be at 11 AM on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at First Baptist Church Lowrys with Rev. Roger Thomas officiating. The burial will be held at Zion Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Lowrys. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 from 10 – 11 AM at First Baptist Church Lowrys.
Betty was a daughter of the late Simeon H. and Naomi Plyler, and was the widow of Albert McKeown, Sr. and Boyd Ashe. She was a member of First Baptist Church Lowrys, where she taught the Fidelis Sunday School Class for over 50 years, and was retired from Belk Department Store in Chester.
She is survived by her children, Dorothy Burnette (Everett) of McConnells, SC, Albert “Mac” McKeown, Jr. (Karen) of McConnells, SC, Sim McKeown (Margaret) of Tifton, GA, and Jim McKeown (Suzanne) of McConnells, SC, sisters, Alice Glass (John) of Winnsboro, SC, Theresa Glass (Jim) of Sumter, SC, 10 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and spouses, Betty was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering at Lowrys Baptist Church, 3981 Armenia Road, Chester, SC 29706.
