Bernice McCollum Rock Hill Bernice H. Good McCollum, 90, of Murrah Drive in Rock Hill passed away on Wednesday, December 14, 2011. A celebration of her life will be at 2 P.M. on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at Bratton Funeral Home. A native of York County, Mrs. McCollum was born January 5, 1921 in Lockhart, SC to the late William and Ida Jones Harris. Prior to her move to Rock Hill, she was a faithful life-long member at Woodlawn Presbyterian Church in Sharon, SC serving as a Sunday School teacher, member of the choir, active in her circle and any other aspect of the church where she could serve. She was retired from Huntley’s of York. Bernice was preceded in death by Allen B. Good and Luther McCollum, her daughter, Dora Hunter, sister, Sally Wood, and five brothers, Ed, Ray, Bill, Burris and Leroy. She is survived by two daughters, Margaret Ida Bratton (John) of Hickory Grove, SC and Gloria Wilson (Dan) of Rock Hill, SC, two sons, Allen (Janice) of Franklin, TN and Tommy McCollum of Princeton, W. Va., son-in-law, Doug Hunter of Winter Park, FL, eight grandchildren, Tommie Bratton (Rita) of Hickory Grove, SC, Karen Wilson and Lisa Broome (Mike) of Rock Hill, SC, Mark Hunter (Samantha) and Susan Vinson (Bobby) of Winter Park, FL, Matthew Good of Aliso Viejo, CA, Lindsay Good of Franklin, TN and Katie Bowe of Princeton, W.Va., 13 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren. Bernice will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all of her family for the love she gave to each one, the service to the church she loved and her service to others throughout her life. A special note of thanks to Serenity Hospice, Ascension Hospice, Regency Hospice and Magnolia Manor for the love and care that she received and also the support that her family received. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Bratton Funeral home. Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
