Ava Holcombe YORK Ava Reece Bunting Holcombe, 89, of York, formerly of Asheboro, NC and Acworth, GA, died Sunday, September 11, 2011, at her home in York. A graveside service will be at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at Georgia Memorial Park in Marietta, GA. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at Acworth United Methodist Church in Acworth, GA, and also a memorial service will be held September 25, 2011, at 3pm, at Central United Methodist Church in Asheboro, NC. Ava was a daughter of the late Colon Bunting and Fannie Etta Bonkemeyer Bunting. She was the widow of John J. Holcombe. Ava loved children, was active in the Boy Scouts and Explorers, and was a true animal lover, leaving behind her cats, Pepe and Munchie, and dogs, Maggie, Buddy, and Molly. She is survived by son, Scott Holcombe and wife Linda of York, SC, four sisters, Martha Hecking of Covington, GA, Colleen Bodsford of Asheboro, NC, Betty Crowell of Asheboro, NC, Jane OConnor of Asheboro, NC, two brothers, Bill Bunting of Level Cross, NC, and Jim Bunting of Helena, MT.
