-- Arnold Eugene Brown, Sr., 87, of York passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at White Oak Manor in York.
A graveside service will be at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, June 3, 2016 at Rose Hill Cemetery with Rev. Tom McPhail officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
Arnold was a son of the late Grover and Evie Mitchell Brown. He was a graduate of Greer High School, Gardner Webb College, and the USC School of Pharmacy. Arnold was a member of First Presbyterian Church in York, was a 14th degree Mason, past Rotarian, and a former member of the York County Technical Education Commission.
He is survived by wife Jane Sandifer Brown of York, SC, daughters, Robbie Miller (Bill) of York, SC, Liz Brown of York, SC, son, Matt Brown (Kathy) of York, SC, step daughters, Sissy Mayfield of Rock Hill, SC, and Rinne Rogers of York, SC, brothers, Dr. Ralph Brown, Hugh Brown, of Greer, SC, sister Dot Forrester of Colorado, 7 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Arnold was preceded in death by his step son Jim Campbell, brothers Mack Brown and Preston Brown.
The family would like to extend a special thanks and appreciation for the love and care that the staffs of Hospice and Community Care, White Oak Manor, and Westminster provided for Mr. Brown.
