Remembering Annie

A Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Annie Mae “Jackie” Perry will be held Saturday, July 14, 2018 in the Green Grove African Missionary Baptist Church at 11:00 O’Clock A. M. The Rev. Robert Fullwood will officiate and burial will follow in the Baker Cemetery, Soperton, Georgia. Mrs. Annie Mae "Jackie" S. Perry 91, was born to the late George W. and Parry Lee Harden Smith on September 19, 1926 in Soperton, Ga. "Jackie", returned to her heavenly home July 8, 2018 after a valiant battle with a long illness. Her devotion to her family and belief in God supported her in her struggle and gave her peace. She attended the public schools of the Treutlen County School System. She married Edward Perry, Sr. December 7, 1942 and resided in Soperton, Georgia . To this union, ten children were born. Jackie worked for the Dublin City School System for 26 years in the school food service department. At the time of her retirement in 1982, Jackie was the cafeteria manager at Dublin Junior High School. She also worked at First Baptist Church for over 20 years. She was loved and respected by all who came in contact with her. The memories of her cooking will forever reign with her family, friends, and the Laurens County community. Mrs. Perry was a lifelong member and faithful servant, until her illness, of Green Grove A.B. Missionary Baptist Church. She served as a member of the senior choir and head of the kitchen ministry for many years. Mrs. Perry was preceded in death by her husband Edward Perry, Sr. and two children, Ernest Perry and Betty Jo Perry, one grandson, Jamal Lowe, and one son-in-law, David Earl Smith. She Is also preceded in death by 7 Mrs. Perry is survived by five sons, James (Mattie) Perry of Milledgeville, Georgia, Leroy Perry, Felton (Lillie Mae) Perry, Robert Earl(Shirley) Perry, and Edward Perry, Jr. all of Dublin, Georgia; three daughters, Edwena (Warren) Turner, Joann(Rev. Robert) Fullwood of Dublin, Georgia, and Cynthia Smith of Rentz, Georgia; and one daughter-in-law, Linda Moore Perry of Dublin, Georgia. Mrs. Perry also leaves a legacy of five generations that include twenty-one grandchildren; thirty-five great grandchildren, and twelve great-great grandchildren; two brothers of Soperton, Georgia, Jimel Smith and Leotis(Lizzie) Smith; and one sister-in-law, Sallie Smith of Williamson, New Jersey, also a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, July 13, 2018 from 5 til 9 P. M. and at the family residence, 700 Plummer Street, Dublin. Ga.
