Annie “Anne” Taylor Allison, 91, went to be with the Lord, March 9, 2018 at her home.
The funeral will be held at 2 PM on Monday, March 12, 2018 at Filbert Presbyterian Church in York with Rev. Dave Hall officiating. Burial will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 1 – 2 PM at the fellowship hall at Filbert Presbyterian Church.
Born June 17, 1926 in Lexington County, Anne was a daughter of Furman L. and Lila Hallman Taylor. After graduating from Batesburg-Leesville High School (1943) and Winthrop College (1947), she became an English and History teacher at McCelvey School in York, SC where she met and married Floyd Allison, Jr. in 1948. In addition to teaching, Anne was very involved at First Presbyterian Church in York, the Yorkville Historical Society, Tea and Topics Book Club, and square dancing. After 54 years of marriage, Anne was preceded in death by her husband.
Anne is survived by her children, Cathy Allison Thompson of Charlotte, NC, Barry Allison of Hickory, NC, Robert Allison (Mandy) of York, Hugh Allison (Elizabeth) of Fort Mill, SC, and Lee Allison of Mount Pleasant, SC, and six grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Filbert Presbyterian Church, 2066 Filbert Hwy, York, SC 29745.
