Andy Leo McCarter, 79, of 950 Lloyd White Road, passed away on Friday, March 31, 2017 at Novant Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte.
A memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Monday, April 3, 2017 at St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Kings Mountain with Rev. Ed Crotty officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 2 PM on Monday, April 3, 2017 at St. Matthews Lutheran Church, and other times at the home.
Andy was a son of the late Arthur Leo McCarter and Nancy “Nan” Ferguson McCarter. He was a member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Kings Mountain, NC, and was a veteran of the SC National Guard. Andy spent his career at River Hills, Rock Hill Printing and Finishing, and in the trucking and painting industry. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Mary Jane Rhyne McCarter, daughters, Nancy M. Faulkner (Jimmy) of Clover, Gretchen McCarter of Clover, brother Wylie T. McCarter (Jean) of Clover, sister Mary Brown (David) of Clover, sister-in-law Margie McCarter of Clover, grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth Faulkner, AJ Faulkner, and Victoria Biggers. In addition to his parents, Andy was preceded in death by his sister Doris Williams and brother Eddie Mack McCarter.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kings Mountain Crisis Ministry, 208 N. Cleveland Ave, Kings Mountain, NC 28086, or to a charity of one’s choice.
