Allyson "Al" Delane

– Allyson “Al” DeLane, 65, a resident of York, SC departed this earth for his heavenly home on December 28, 2018, surrounded by his loving family, after a hard and courageous battle with cancer.
Al was born in Mobile, AL to Russell “Pete” and Billie DeLane. He graduated from West Mecklenburg HS in Charlotte, NC, class of 1972. He loved his job as a long haul truck driver for over 20 years. He then became self-employed as the best handy man, his talents were unlimited. Al’s hobbies were riding his Harley, fishing and gardening, he loved the outdoors.
Al was a wonderful and loving son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather. He spent his life devoted to his Mother and Father and a great friend and mentor to everyone that had the pleasure of knowing him. Anyone that knew Al knew about his love for his children and the joy he received taking care of them. He fought hard for many years with his illnesses but with the love and support from his wife Suzanne, we all had more time with him. He finally felt what true love and devotion was and could not have been happier in his final years. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten. Al was a very funny, kind and gentle soul, he had a loving and generous heart and was always giving to others and was greatly loved.
He is survived by his wife Suzanne, mother Billie DeLane, children, Matthew Donovan DeLane (Miranda), Taylor DeLane, Christopher DeLane, and Keaton Russell DeLane, grandchildren, Donovan, Bryson, and Kylin, and cousin Glenda Faye Goldman. In addition to his father, Russell DeLane, Al was preceded in death by his brother, Tony DeLane, maternal grandparents, Vernon and Maude Brown, and paternal grandmother, Earline Mims.
