Wilson Washington

Funeral services for Mr. Wilson Washington, Jr., of Dublin, will be held on Wednesday, December 20, 2017, at 1 PM at the Sandy Ford Baptist Church, 2614 US Highway 80 West, Dublin. Reverend Daryl K. Moore, Sr., will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in the Dudley Memorial Cemetery.

Brother Wilson Washington, Jr., was born on December 9, 1948, in Laurens County to the late Wilson and Inell Washington, Sr. He gave his life to Christ at an early age, was baptized at the Green Grove Baptist Church, and was a devoted member of the Sandy Ford Baptist Church. He received his formal education from the Oconee High School. In 1972, Wilson and Bonnie Washington were married. He was very active in the church in many capacities including Sunday School Quiz Bowl Champion, and as a member of the Male Chorus, the deacon's ministry, kitchen committee, and vacation bible school. He also served as Vice President of the Telfair Neighborhood Watch Program, Devotional Leader and treasurer of the Washington Street Presbyterian Church, and as a member of the NAACP. His hobby was collecting model cars. Most of all, he was recognized as one of the best brick masons in Laurens County. Mr. Washington passed away on December 13, 2017.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Sherman Washington, Leroy Washington, and by one sister, Evelyn Washington.

He leaves to cherish his memories his devoted wife, Bonnie Washington of Dublin, four children, Derrick Washington of Atlanta, Tammy (Nelson) Barden of Dublin, Tony Washington of Watkinsville, and Deandera Washington of Atlanta, one brother, Carey (Dessie) Washington of East Dublin, three sisters, Annie Mae Washington Golden of Dublin, Annesse Washington, and Burnell Washington of Dublin, one aunt, Addie Washington of Dublin, and nieces including a special niece, Jacquelyn Mills, nephews, one favorite son-in-law, Nelson Barden, Jr., and other relatives and friends.

The family is receiving friends at 303 Roberts Street, Dublin, and at the Dudley Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 19, 2017, 6-7 PM.
