Funeral services for Mrs. Willie Mae Wood, of Tennille, Georgia, will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2019, at 1 PM at the Mount Pleasant AME Church, 368 Bill Oliver Road in Wrightsville. Reverend James Jenkins will deliver the eulogy. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Willie Mae Wood was born October 6, 1923, in Washington County, Georgia, to the late Essie Lou Scott Outlaw and Mr. Charlie Outlaw. She was a member of the Mount Pleasant AME Church in Wrightsville, Georgia, and was a faithful member until her health began to fail. She served as a steward for many years, and also mother of the church. She was married to the late Otis Wood on July 19, 1947. Mrs. Wood was also preceded in death by her five siblings. She passed away on September 18, 2019.

Mrs. Willie Mae Wood leaves to cherish her memories, her nieces, Dorothy Devero, Linda Brannan, Angela Outlaw, Brenda (Tony) Hood, Annie Pearl (John) Barge, Lila London, all of Wrightsville, Mrs Brennet Williams of Atlanta, Mrs. Virginia Hall of Harrison, Georgia, Verdine Smith, Gail Outlaw, Nicey Outlaw, both of Orlando, Florida, nephews, Delon Outlaw of Saint Petersburg, Florida, David Outlaw and Leon Outlaw of Nashville, Tennessee, Thurnel Outlaw and Bruce Graddy, both of Atlanta, Lesa Williams of Dallas, Texas, one brother-in-law, Willie C. (Annie G.) Wood of Atlanta, three sisters-in-laws, Arlean Wood, of Atlanta, Ruth Wood of North Carolina, a dedicated caregiver and friend, Tracey Fleming, and a host of other relatives and friends.
