Funeral services for Deacon Willie Lawson, of Montrose, will be held on Thursday, February 11, 2016, at 12 PM at the Jordan Grove Christian Fellowship Center, 1330 Highway 319 in East Dublin. Superintendent Ira Edwards, Sr. will officiate. Interment will follow in the Dudley Memorial Cemetery.

Deacon Lawson who passed on February 6, 2016, was born on December 15, 1940, to the late Moses and Victoria Lawson in Manning, South Carolina.

He graduated from Scotch Branch High School and received a certificate of community services from Tunxis Community College. Deacon Lawson served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, achieved the rank of SP4 - E and received an honorable discharge.

He worked faithfully for thirty-three years at Pratt & Whitney Air Craft in Southington, Connecticut. as a machinist. He was a member of Jordan Grove Church of God In Christ in East Dublin.

Deacon Lawson was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Louis Lawson, Abraham Lawson; sisters, Gussie Mae Aiken, Susie Mae Carter, Alice Foxworth and Lillie Mae Lawson.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Mattie Mack Lawson; children, Carolyn (Kevin) Moses, Dexter,Madelyn "Snoopy" (Tony) Roberts, New Britain, CT, Randall (Danielle) Lawson, Montrose, Sandrella (Elijah) Barr, Columbia, South Carolina; eight grandchildren, MarQuisha Rodney, Tava'eana, Evan, Harrison, Jr., Christian Ramses, Ayden; a sister, Mary Lou Johnson, Hartford, CT; sisters-in-law, Luvine Vaughns, Marian (Joe) Smith; brothers-in-law, Herschel (Emily) Mack, Marshall (Hazel) Mack, Kline Mack and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests monetary donations be made to the Jordan Grove Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 4644, Dublin, GA 31040.

The family will receive friends at 4410 Highway 80 West in Montrose, and at the Dudley Funeral Home, Wednesday, February 10, 2016 from 6 to 7 PM
