Willie Guyton
Funeral services for Mr. Willie James Guyton, of East Dublin, will be held on Wednesday, November 2, 2016, at 12 PM at the Driskell Tabernacle Baptist Church, 223 Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive, in Dublin. Reverend Willie Reed will officiate. Interment will follow in the Dudley Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Guyton was born on April 16, 1937, to the late Willie and Cora Lee Guyton in Dublin. He was called home on Friday, October 28, 2016.
Mr. Guyton retired from Engelhard Corporation after being a dedicated employee for thirty-four years. He attended Oconee High School. He married Frances Wells on February 10, 1962. Mr. Guyton was a lifelong member of Driskell Tabernacle Baptist Church where he has served as an usher and on the trustee board.
Mr. Guyton was preceded in death by his parents, Elder Willie and Cora Guyton, two sisters, Mattie M. Wright and Bertha L. Guyton, brothers, Tommie Lee Guyton, Hardy Lee Locke and Walter Guyton. He was also preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Ruby D. Wells.
He leaves to cherish his many fond memories a loving and devoted wife of fifty-four years, Frances Guyton; three daughters, Wanda (Tony) Davis of Dublin, Tammy Guyton of Norcross, Monica (Fred) Williams of Lithonia; one son, James Rexell Guyton of Norcross; five grandchildren, Tasha (Clint) Burston, Jasmine, Kendall Rae, Cooper Williams and Braylon James Guyton, two great grandchildren, Kennedie and Bernard Burston; sisters, Reba (Robert) Evans, Louise Daniel and Christine Carswell, all of Dublin, Alberta Guyton and Willamena Guyton of Fort Meyers, Florida, Callie Coleman of Wrightsville; brothers, J. W. Guyton of Lexington, Kentucky, and Freddie Guyton of Fort Myers, Florida; sisters-in-law, Carrie (Roosevelt) Cooper and Blanche (Willie) Abner, of Miami, Florida, Rosa (Curtis) Williams and LaJoyce Allsop of Lithonia, Lynette (Norman) Williams of Fayetteville; brothers-in law, James (Jerri) Wells of Miami, Florida, Robert (Betty) Wells of Birmingham, Alabama, and Rufus (Rose) Wells of Dublin; two devoted nieces, Katrina Woodbury and Dorothy (Michael) Snell of Dublin; a devoted friend, Eugene Smith, Sr. and a host of other devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family is receiving friends at 112 Derriso Lane, East Dublin.
