Funeral servies for Mr. Willie "Junior" Corbett, of Dublin, will be held at 1 PM on Monday, November 20, 2017, at the Holly Spring Baptist Church, 705 Buckeye Road in East Dublin. Pastor Alton Jones will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in the Dudley Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Corbett was born on August 3, 1938, in Dublin. He departed this life on November 14, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, Aleus and Rebbie V. Hall Corbett, and by his wife, Lena Corbett; and by a sister, Ida Corbett Turner.
He worked his early years at Livingston Oldsmobile-Cadillac of Dublin as a mechanic. He was a member of the Montford Grove Baptist Church.
Mr. Corbett was the father of thirteen children, Gladys Haynes Darrisaw, Willie T. (Estella) Haynes, James L. Haynes, Thad (Evelyn) Haynes, Delois (Jerry) Davis, Ann Corbett all of Dublin, A.W. (Florine) Haynes of Bonaire, Dorothy Corbett, Ellen Corbett (Eugene) Smith, Dublin, Edna (Kenneth) Corbett Wells, Fayetteville, Felicia Corbett, Willie Corbett, Jr., Dublin and Lynn Corbett, McDonough. He had eight siblings, Ellen Corbett, Fred (Grace) Corbett both of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Edna Corbett Seabrook, Freeport, New York, Gloria Corbett of Dublin, Robert (Catherine) Corbett, Atlanta, Maggie Corbett, Newman, Ruby Taylor, Akron, Ohio, Roger Corbett, Dublin, along with a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins including, Della Corbett Stanley, Cynthia Lemons of Dublin and Robert Burns.
The family is receiving friends at 611 Blaine Street in Dublin.
