William Jackson

Funeral services for Mr. William L. "Billy Jack" Jackson, Jr., 58, of Dublin, will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, January 6, 2017, at the Greater New Evergreen Baptist Church, 1599 US Highway 80 East in East Dublin. Reverend Michael Kirkland will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Jackson was born on November 29, 1959, as the oldest son of Rodella M. Hood and the late William L. "Frank" Jackson, Sr. He was a graduate of Dublin High School and furthered his education at Atlanta Area Technical College. He was a blessed guitar player who enjoyed using and sharing his God-given gift at many churches throughout the southeast including at the Greater New Evergreen Baptist Church where he was recently honored for his musical contribution. He traveled with the Taylor Singers. He also served in the United States Army. Mr. Jackson passed away on December 31, 2017.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Monroe and Lessie D. Phillips aka “Ma Ma Lessie”, and by two brothers, Greg Hood and Gaylord "Jay" Hood.

Mr. Jackson is survived by his mother, Rodella M. Hood, a son, Tyrone Smith, sister, Donita (Larry) Jamerson, brothers, Jeffrey (Harriet) Jackson, Stephen Hood, and Don (Tabetha) Hood, nephews, Harold, Render (Chynarae) Render, II, Rondell White, Dominique Hood, Hakim Hood, Mikal Hood, Dejara White, nieces, Deirdre Render, Tasha Dunn, Amanda Jackson, and by a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
