William Goetz

William J. Goetz, 82, of Rayville, MO, passed away February 18, 2016, at his home surrounded by his family.

Visitation will be 1-2 pm, Thursday, February 25, 2016, at Hidden Valley Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs, MO. Funeral Service will follow at 2 pm. Burial at Crowley Cemetery, Rayville, MO.

William was born August 14, 1933, in Rueter, MO, to Edward & Clara (Wright) Goetz. On May 19, 2012, he married Velma Brockert.

William was a Veteran and proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force.

He was a Truck Driver and Farmer. William was the Mayor of Rayville, MO ,for many years. He ran Community Service while serving as Mayor and after. William loved running around town in his electric wheelchair and riding horses.

William was preceded in death by his brothers: Gordon, Clarence, Charlie, and Carl Goetz; son: Bobby Goetz; sisters: Katherine Bair, and Lena Church.

William is survived by his wife Velma Goetz of the home; daughter: Linda Black of Ava, MO, Son: Billy Glenn Goetz & wife Amy of Taneyville, MO, daughters: Kathy Dorsey of Brownbranch, MO, Janie Pigg & husband Austin of Rayville, MO, and Jeanie Edgman of Rayville, MO; son: Lester Goetz of Rayville, MO; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother: Ray Goetz & wife Janice of Springfield, MO; sister: Gerri Brown & husband John of Springfield, MO.
