William DeWitt

William “Bill” DeWitt was born on December 7, 1961 in Great Lakes, Illinois and graduated to Heaven on May 23, 2013 in his home with his wife at his side, due to complications from a brain injury.
Bill and his family moved to Lucerne Valley from Spring, Texas in 2002. He was in construction for 20 years until he was injured during an attempted carjacking on August 25, 2004. This took a big toll on the family, but Bill was determined to overcome any obstacle. One of his greatest pleasures was being a member of Hi-Desert Toodleing Club – camping with his friends and riding sand rails. He was so proud when the doctors determined that he had made such progress that he was able to get a sandrail and enjoy riding and teaching his granddaughter the joys of the sport. He was an active member of Lucerne Valley Community Church and his greatest joy was spending time with his family. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandpa, brother, son, and friend. His heart was huge, and even if he didn’t know you, he wanted to help. On numerous occasions he would see a homeless person on the street, and he would go and buy them a meal – he was a kind and generous man.
He will be forever missed by his wife of 23 years, Pamyla Dewitt; his children: Steven DeWitt(Janelle), Shanae DeWitt and Ashlee DeWitt; his grandchildren: Payton DeWitt, Case Kolojaco, Scarlett DeWitt and Aayden Moore; His parents: Barbara and Clifford “Doug” DeWitt; mother and father-in-law: Dorothy and JD Wilson; Siblings: Sue Palmer, Sharon Lindquist and Stephanie Duran; sister-in-law: Vici and of course many many friends.
There will be a Celebration of Life at Lucerne Valley Community Church, located at 10375 Ladera Ave, Lucerne Valley, CA 92356 on Saturday June 15th at 10:00 AM.
