William Brazeal, Sr.

Funeral services for Mr. William Dudley Brazeal, Sr., of East Dublin, Georgia, will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2020, at 11 AM at the graveside in the Brazeal Chapel Cemetery in East Dublin. Pastor Grady Brazeal will deliver the eulogy.

Mr. Brazeal was born on June 28, 1945 in Wrightsville to the late Elder Eugene Dudley Brazeal Sr. and the late Cora Lee Taylor.

He spent his childhood and young adulthood years in Johnson County. He was a long-time member of Brazeal Chapel Church of God in Christ where he served as a Deacon for many years. William married Marjorie Brown in October 1966 and they were blessed with four children.

William was a long-term supervisor at Mohawk Industries in Dublin. He served as a part-time Sheriff's Deputy in Johnson County before retiring from the Georgia Department of Corrections as a Corrections Officer. He received many awards and a certificate for outstanding services. William's proudest achievement was his devotion to his family. He also enjoyed entertaining friends and family, including founding a gospel music group in the 1970's. He continued his love of gospel music throughout his life.

On the morning of Saturday, August 1, 2020, William was called home to eternal rest after an extended illness.

Cherishing his memory, William leaves his devoted wife of 53 years, Marjorie Brazeal of East Dublin; two sons, Bryant (Ian) Brazeal of St. Louis, MO and William Brazeal, Jr. of East Dublin; two daughters, Tammi Brooks of East Dublin and Stephini (Dylan) Carey of Covington; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Eugene (Linda) Brazeal of Inkster, MI, Grady (Fannie) Brazeal of East Dublin; five sisters, Alzarene (Carnell) Stanley, and Ruby Brazeal both of Montrose, Mary O'Neal of Valdosta, Francina Brazeal of Macon and Angela Brazeal of Dublin; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
