William “Wildman” Lewis Benfield, Jr., 69, passed away at home with family by his side on Monday, November 20, 2017.
A memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at Bratton Funeral Home with Dewey Koon and Ernest Ratley officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM at Bratton Funeral Home on Wednesday.
He was a dedicated and wonderful husband, father, son, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, and co-worker. He enjoyed being with his family and working in his yard and garden. He took pride in helping others, no matter the circumstances, and he was well known and loved for his generosity. He was an outstanding co-worker to his crew member at Pike Electric over his many years with them.
William is survived by his mother, Ruth Shuford Benfield, wife of 44 years Patricia Carter Benfield, daughters, Mandy Harris (Ben), Candy Pless (Bratton), Andrea Benfield, sisters, Donna Barrett, Diane Cecil, Lynn Cook (Rusty), grandchildren, Austin and McKenzie Pless and Brantleigh Wiley, and his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father William Lewis Benfield Sr.
