Funeral services for Mr. Wilbert Carswell, of Dublin, will be held on Friday, July 1, 2016, at 1 PM at the Greater Victory Temple Church, 511 North Franklin Street in Dublin. Reverend James Bell will officiate. Interment will follow in the Dudley Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Carswell, who passed on June 26, 2016, was born March 10, 1939, to the late Will Carswell, Sr. and Cora Lee Vickers Carswell. He was preceded in death by a son, Tony Tyree Carswell; three brothers, Willie Carswell, Jr., James Knight and Robert Carswell; and two nieces, Brenda Carswell and Debra Boyer.

He loved and enjoyed children, gardening, fishing, watching cowboy movies and sharing stories with all who would listen. He was educated in the Laurens County School System. Mr. Carswell was a self taught carpenter and roofer. He retired from Roche Manufacturing Company.

He is survived by his children, Ronnie "Cut" (Dot) Holliman, Charles (Sandra) Holliman, Wilbert Carswell, Jr., Kimothy (Loshonne) Carswell, Tammy Carswell Jones, Sharon Carswell (Cager) Ector, Wayne Carswell, Terena Carswell, DeWayne Floyd, Tomeka Carswell, Christopher Carswell; siblings, Susie Mae Tucker, Clara Boyer, Christine Carswell, Carrie Bell, Catherine Davis, Wanda (Al) Parker all of Dublin, Lonnie Carswell, Carl Carswell, Judy (Jamie) Graves, Albert Henry Carswell all of Miami, Florida, Johnny Charles Carswell of Loraine, Ohio, Ivey Jean Bledsoe of Macon and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends at 817 Martin Luther King, Jr., Drive and at the home of his brother, Lonnie Carswell, 306 Kingsby Street in Dublin.
